Origins of our mutual support

Since 1986 the Hampton Park URC fellowship has been in a formal ecumenical covenant relationship with St. Paul’s (Church of England) Tupsley, some 400 yards distance. Informal co-operation and shared publications go back a further eight years. Tupsley Voice was the brain child of Ministers past and is still fully supported by both Churches.

Our worship is further enhanced and broadened by joint services with our partners at St. Paul’s. We always share a morning service with St. Paul’s during the 'Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity' in January; during Holy Week we share daily evening worship which has always included Bible study and meditation. For some members this has been a time not only of spiritual development but a sharing of warm fellowship.

Regular Joint Events:

Wednesday Coffee Shop

Open between 10:00 and 12:00 every Wednesday - a delightful way to spend the morning: catching up with friends and making new acquaintances, all for £1.00!

Messy Church - third Tuesday each month during term

An exciting new adventure that has truly taken off! Come along and participate in games, worship, crafts and food.

The Coffee Shop has sponsored a three day ‘Holiday@Home’ during the first week in August for 30 elderly folk in the community. It has become a real favourite, with the list filling up very quickly! Volunteers are also quick to ask to be involved.

Children's Holiday Club

At the end of the school summer holidays for the last 30+ years we have run a Children’s Holiday Club, usually attended by about 30 children each day. We provide fun and games, crafts and singing, with the Christian message clearly proclaimed. New Volunteers to help are always welcome.
